How Trovve works

Trovve is a cloud-based software that allows you to plan, track, and execute your work across different platforms, such as Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and more. You can use Trovve to create and assign tasks, manage projects, organize files, store contacts, and collaborate with teams. You can also sync your data and activities with Microsoft 365 and access them from any device.

How Trovve is secure

Trovve is designed with security in mind, and uses the following features to ensure the safety and privacy of your data:

• Microsoft Azure hosting: Trovve does not have any servers of its own, but uses Microsoft Azure, a cloud platform that provides a high level of security, reliability, and scalability. Azure has multiple layers of protection, such as encryption, firewalls, network security groups, identity and access management, and compliance standards. Azure also has a global network of data centers, which means that your data is always available and resilient to failures. Trovve stores its app data, such as metadata, encryption keys, and settings, on Azure. 
• Single sign-on: Trovve uses single sign-on (SSO), a feature that allows you to log in to Trovve using your existing credentials from your Microsoft 365 account. This means that you don’t have to create a separate username and password for Trovve, and you can benefit from the security policies and practices of your Microsoft 365 account. SSO also simplifies the authentication process and reduces the risk of phishing and password breaches. 
• Microsoft 365 tenant storage: Trovve does not store any of your files on Azure or any other servers. Instead, it stores all your files in your own Microsoft 365 tenant, which is a dedicated and isolated space for your organization’s data. This means that you have full control and ownership of your files, and you can leverage the security features of Microsoft 365, such as encryption, backup, retention, and audit. Trovve only accesses your files through secure APIs, and only with your permission. 

How Trovve protects your data

In addition to the security features mentioned above, Trovve also takes the following measures to protect your data:

• Data minimization: Trovve only collects and processes the minimum amount of data necessary to provide you with its services. Trovve does not collect any sensitive information from you, it only collects metadata from your tasks, projects, files, contacts, and teams, such as the name, description, status, and due date, and uses it to display and manage your work. Trovve does not access or analyze the content of your files and does not share your data with any third parties. 
• Data encryption: Trovve encrypts all the data it collects and processes, both in transit and at rest. Trovve uses industry-standard encryption algorithms, such as AES-256 and SSL/TLS, to ensure that your data is secure and unreadable by anyone who does not have the proper authorization. Trovve also uses encryption keys that are unique to each user and each file and are stored separately from the data. 
• Data deletion: Trovve allows you to delete your data at any time and ensures that your data is permanently erased from Azure and Microsoft 365. Trovve also follows a data retention policy, which means that it does not keep your data longer than necessary. Trovve deletes your data after a certain period of inactivity, or when you cancel your subscription. Trovve also deletes your data upon your request and provides you with confirmation of the deletion. 

How Trovve complies with regulations

Trovve is committed to complying with the relevant laws and regulations that apply to its services, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Trovve respects your rights and preferences regarding your data, and provides you with the following options:

• Data access: You can access your data at any time and download or export it to another platform. You can also view and edit your data and update your settings and preferences.  
• Data portability: You can transfer your data to another service provider, without any loss of quality or functionality. You can also request a copy of your data in a common and machine-readable format.  
• Data correction: You can correct any inaccurate or incomplete data that Trovve has about you, and request that Trovve updates or modifies your data accordingly.  
• Data objection: You can object to the processing of your data by Trovve, and request that Trovve stops or limits its use of your data. You can also opt out of any marketing or promotional communications from Trovve.  
• Data erasure: You can request that Trovve deletes your data and revokes your consent to its collection and processing. You can also withdraw your subscription and terminate your account with Trovve.
